Who needs it?
Anyone who participates in sports will benefit from receiving a sports massage. Factors such as your level of activity, overall health,
and condition of your muscles and other connective tissues will largely dictate the frequency and type of massage
you should receive. For example:
¤ Professional - frequent and ongoing (based on in-season, off-season needs)
¤ Active Enthusiast - frequent (based on training and maintenance for the event and/or activity)
¤ Secondary Enthusiast - frequent at first then follow-up as needed
If you're a seasoned, professional athlete, you already know the benefits of receiving massage on a regular basis. As this is probably
the case, I'll move onto the next two categories.

While there are numerous benefits in receiving sports massage, many sports participants mistakenly view massage as a treat or a kind of
pampering. While you are pampering yourself in a way, you're also preparing and maintaining your body
in order to pursue your sports activities with as little pain and discomfort as possible.
How often should you receive a sports massage? That mainly depends upon your activity level. It can range from once or twice a month to
more. For example, if you're training for a marathon, I recommend a massage schedule that matches your training schedule. If
you're just getting started in increasing your activity level, you might consider receiving a regular monthly massage with deep tissue and
therapeutic elements included.

Tip #3:
Maintain your body.
These tips apply to everyone, but more so if you're active. Have a healthy, balanced diet (consult your physician as needed). Get
plenty of rest. Receive massage as you need it - not necessarily how frequently you think you need it.
